Job Description

Database Administration & Infrastructure

• Administer, configure, monitor, and support enterprise database environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Support database installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, backup/recovery, and ongoing maintenance.
• Manage SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar relational database platforms.

Performance, Availability & Security

• Monitor database health, performance, storage, and availability.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, replication, failover clustering, Always On Availability Groups, and backup/recovery processes.
• Maintain database security controls, user access management, encryption, auditing, vulnerability remediation, and compliance standards.

Cloud, Data Platform & Continuous Improvement

• Support cloud-based database services and integrations across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Assist with database migrations, cloud modernization, hybrid infrastructure, and data platform initiatives.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, data engineering, and analytics teams to improve database design, scalability, reporting, ETL/ELT pipelines, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks, automation initiatives, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience is also considered.
• Minimum 8 years of database administration experience supporting enterprise production environments.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or other major relational database platforms.
• Strong capability in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience supporting cloud platforms and cloud-based database services within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, reporting systems, data platform environments, and modern analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse is preferred.
• Exposure to scripting, automation, monitoring, and alerting tools is preferred.

Language / Other Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across infrastructure, development, and data services teams.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Database Administrator, AWS Database Specialty, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Databricks certifications are a plus.
